WE can’t deny that we’re totally obsessed with candles – but let’s be honest, they don’t always do a great job of scenting the whole house.

Well, instead of buying incense for every room, a savvy woman has revealed how she uses fabric softener to make her home smell heavenly.

And to be completely honest, we’re a bit disappointed that we never thought of this before.

Earlier this week, mum Louise shared her quick and easy trick on her TikTok account MaMammyBetterThanUrs.

Speaking to her 10,900 followers through the process, Louise explained how she puts the plug in her sink and adds a cap of fabric softener on top.

She said, “Add boiling water from the kettle, leave it overnight, and your house will smell good. Try it!”

Although you can use any fabric softener, Louise loved Ruby Jasmine from Lenor.

Although any fabric softener will do, Louise loved Lenor’s Ruby Jasmine scent.

The video racked up over 100,000 views in less than 24 hours – and cleaning fans are desperate to try it out.

One replied, “Well, I just got out of bed to do it. Hope it works!”

Another added: “Love it!”

Meanwhile, a third recommended: “Put some in an empty spray bottle and spray your bedding and carpet.”

Last year, we revealed the awesome (and cheap!) ways cleaning fans scent their homes – including a nifty trick from Zoflora.

For more cleaning tips and tricks, this woman has shared her easy trick to cleaning your dirty shower head and it’ll only cost you a pound.

And this housekeeper revealed how to deep clean your mattress in a few easy steps – and you’ll need a toothbrush.

Additionally, this cleaning fan has revealed a hack to remove burn stains from your iron using paracetamol.
