One person tweeted: ‘I don’t need to see the rest of tonight’s acts. Amber and the Dancing Collies are the winners’, while a second fan said: ‘I’m not the biggest fan animal acts, but Amber and her collies were brilliant!”

Another person added: “That’s how to start a show. Absolutely flawless, that’s what you call talent!! #BritainsGotTalent is instantly better than night 1 of the semis. Well Amber. You should be so proud of you. ”

“Amber & The Dancing Collies already got my vote. Show up!” exclaimed an impressed spectator.

Others weren’t sure if another act could top Amber’s performance on the show, saying, “There’s gonna be something special for me tonight. Well done Amber and the dogs.”

The judges were equally blown away, with Alesha Dixon calling the performance “a spectacle”. She told Amber, “Oh my God, you choreographed that to perfection, and you did great at keeping up with those dogs!”

Amanda Holden said she felt like she had just watched a show at Disney World and said: “For me it’s just the amount of energy and joy, these dogs just couldn’t wait to start, which is really important I think. We’re all huge animal lovers and seeing their energy and seeing their talent was just amazing.”

Amber continued to impress the judges, including Simon Cowell and David Walliams, with her first audition seeing her with Nymeria performing Chubby Checker’s Let’s Twist Again.

The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals kicked off on Monday May 30 with the final set to take place on Sunday June 5.

Unfortunately for Amber, she was sent home after the judges were forced to decide whether to put her on or Flintz and Taylor. Simon had the deciding vote as he chose to advance the musical duo Flintz and Taylor to the final.

Viewers were left heartbroken when dance group Born To Perform were sent home during the first live show, despite receiving the golden buzzer from David Walliams for their previous audition.

The band didn’t make it to the final, and many took to Twitter to express their disappointment, with one fan writing, “really shocked that Born to Play didn’t get enough votes from the public, that’s an understatement #sad”.

“Justice for Born To Perform, my winners deserve the wildcard!” The sheer joy they bring to everything they do is so beautiful,” another wrote.
