Bridgerton star Ruby Barker has revealed she is currently in hospital after battling her mental health. The 25-year-old, who plays Marina Thompson in the Netflix show , opened up about his ongoing battle in a video on Instagram.
She told fans she was “struggling” and had been “really sick for a really long time.” She added that she now had a diagnosis and was going to take a break from her career to take care of herself.
The video was captioned: “Mental Health Week is every week for me. Off my chest. I feel like I haven’t been completely honest so this is for my followers. It’s time to be transparent. I’ve been fighting since Bridgerton, that’s the truth. Thank you all for supporting me, your love supports me. #mentalhealthawareness.

She told her followers, “I’m better, I’ve been really sick for a very long time. I want to be honest with everyone.
“I struggled. I’m in the hospital at the minute and I’m going to be discharged soon and hopefully I can get on with my life.”
She continued, “I’m going to take a little break for myself and I’ll encourage others, if you’re struggling, do yourself a favor and take a break, stop being so hard on yourself.”
Ruby added: “I was enraged, angry, all this intergenerational trauma pooled in me, I was carrying the weight of the world on my back and now I’m at the point where I have a diagnosis, I’m drawing a line in the sand.
“I can’t continue as I was, I have to change, that’s what I’m trying to do.”
She went on to thank her friends and family, as well as Netflix for “saving her and giving her an opportunity.” Ruby ended the post by adding, “I want to survive and I will survive, I will.”
