Ahead of the Cheltenham Festival next week, Paddy Power has brought together some of the biggest names in sport to discuss their favorites and tips for each day during the Ultimate Cheltenham Preview Party.

With a full week of packed races on the cards, racing experts have given a race-by-race breakdown of those to watch, including the main event, the Gold Cup.

Walsh offered some advice to other guests who gave their expert opinion on some of the key races during the four-day bonanza.

Tips for the first day of Cheltenham’s Ruby Walsh Festival

Supreme Novice Obstacle

Mullins believes Tuesday’s opener will be “the most informative race in the next three or four years.”

Walsh told the Ultimate Cheltenham Preview Night: “Dynamo Dysart and Mr Gerhard are the two that are mortally separated, they are the ones that ride, and they will be separated.

“I believe that whoever goes to Ballymore [Novices Hurdle] will win it. But whoever runs here [in the Supreme] could win. The Ballymore is a much weaker breed.

“I think it’s a blistering ride, as people have said before.”

“I think if Dynamo Dysart had to run here, this race is made for him.

Ruby Walsh predicts Stormy Island will cross the Mares Hurdle after returning to Willie Mullins’ stable…

Walsh explained: This is stormy island this will win me over, she was very good at Fairyhouse last year.

“She was brought back to the stable of Willie Mullins this year, then has been excellent at Fairyhouse, won at Punchestown and she has run well at the festival in the past. I think it’s the weakest Mares Hurdle she’s ever run in.”

Ruby Walsh Cheltenham Festival day two tips

Both Walsh and Mullins ranked Shishkin as Banker of the Week in Wednesday’s Queen Mother’s Champion Hunt.

Walsh simply said, “Shishkin will win this race.

Ruby Walsh Cheltenham Festival day three tips

Walsh tipped Champ for the Stayers’ Hurdle who will face Paisley Park again after losing by more than three lengths to Cheltenham in January in the Cleeve Hurdle.

Paisley Park loves the Cheltenham track, but specifically this race and is odds 7/1 while Champ is assumed at 5.

Mullins chose Emma Lavelle trained horse Paisley Park, Hickey opted for Sporting John in JP McManus colors while Hislop opted for Klassical Dream to have a dream race at Cheltenham.

Walsh said: “I agree with Tony, I would ride See you later. Galvin had a brilliant Christmas run and See you later was in the wrong place all the time and it is very easy to reverse this result.
