Datamine game hints at Ruby, Demon Spawn and Heavy Weapons

Evil Dead: The game’s dataminers have found references to Ruby, her Demon Spawn, and heavy weapons in the game’s files.

Although Evil Dead: The Game already has two massive maps and pretty much every character in the series, there are a few that have seemingly been missed, both on the survivor side and the demon side. Fortunately, we already know that more content is on the way through future updates and DLCs, and datamines from the LeaksOfSumeria Twitter account might have given us our first idea of what to expect.

By far the most interesting part of the datamine is several voice lines referencing survivors killing Ruby. Ruby is one of the main characters in Ash vs. Evil Dead, so it was odd that she wasn’t included in the final game. These voice lines imply that she will be added to the demon team at some point, possible alongside her Demon Spawn, who actually have models in the game.

GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

Some have speculated that Ruby will have a character slot on the survivor team, of which there are currently three empty spaces, as well as a spot on the demon team, but that’s unclear given that we only have the voice lines to leave at the moment. Considering Baal is the series’ biggest threat and there are multiple versions of the character, it makes sense that Ruby would appear on both teams, both as a survivor and as an elite demon.

The final single player mission also appears to have been revealed by the LeaksOfSumeria datamine, as we can see a cover on which Eligos owns Kelly. The datamine also shows the mid-mission artwork, which seems to imply that this is a mission for former Ash Williams and not Kelly.

The latest interesting content found in these datamines is the revelation of heavy weapons. A perk refers to an entire class of heavy weapons, including a flamethrower, harpoon gun, and minigun. Models for these weapons exist in the game files and appear to be nearly complete, so it’s unclear if they’re for future seasons or were removed at some point in development.
