There promises to be plenty of quality action in both codes next week at Galway Races Summer Festival and Glorious Goodwood.

Speaking on the latest episode of our From the horse’s mouth podcast, Paddy’s resident jockey turned pundit Ruby Walsh and tipster Rory Delargy revealed some outpost fantasies for both reunions.

Ruby Walsh:

Galway Monday 6.40pm – Echoes in the Rain

Echoes in the rain ran reasonably on the flat for the first time in a long time at the Curragh in May. She is very lucky.

Galway Wednesday 6.40pm – El Barra

El-Barra won the right race at Punchestown in April which is a great trial for the Galway Plate. I would try to ride it if I was still a jockey!

Rory Delargy:

Galway Wednesday 6.40pm – Cape Gentleman

I would be interested if Cape Gentlemangoes for the Galway plate as he has to go right handed so there are limited targets. I would have thought this could be a long-term plan for Emmet Mullins, but with no information it’s hard to assess whether he’s scored.

Goodwood Saturday 15:20 – Summerghand

summerghand was in the middle of the race last year, but won it the year before. He is 8lbs lighter than when he scored two years ago and ran well to earn money back and forth at Wokingham last time out. He will be better at Goodwood and has a huge midsummer record on 6f. He has a lot going for him.
