It’s been a while since we’ve looked at a watch from Girard-Perregaux, and that’s a shame. The company’s designs manage to encapsulate hundreds of years of tradition and make it easy, and they also artfully balance overtly dazzling elements and an extraordinarily flavorful sensibility.

Neat laps at a time, and laps that the Tourbillon Trois Ponts d’Or watch with Ruby Heart seems ideally set to represent. The watch also comes with a pre-existing narrative, inspired by the story of 19andthe watchmaker of the last century and namesake of the firm Constant Girard and his wife, the firm of the same name Marie Perregaux.

The watch case is crafted from 18k rose gold. Its dial is in heart of ruby, derived from the zoisite stone, and it is crowned by three gold bridges. 56 brilliant-cut diamonds and 18 brilliant-cut rubies surround the dial. Below beats a caliber GP09600-1620.

The Tourbillon Three Gold Bridges with Ruby Heart watch is priced at 193,000 Swiss francs, which converts at current rates to around $210,000.
