Pokemon Go Regice Raid Guide: Best Counters, Weaknesses, Raid Hours & More Tips

Pokemon Go’s next five-star special raid is now on, and trainers are going to have to have ice in their veins to catch this legendary Pokemon.

Regice of the Hoenn region has been named as the latest five-star Pokemon Go raid, running from now until February 1. Regice’s time as a five-star Raid Pokemon is part of the January 2022 in-game events. Regice was the first of three “Regi” Pokemon to be introduced in Pokemon GO, so this isn’t the first time that he is available. However, any chance of adding a rare Pokémon like this is worth it, so if you’re going to challenge the raid, check out our tips below.

Regice Raid Schedule

Regice enters the five-star Raid ring beginning January 24 at 1:00 p.m. PT / 4:00 p.m. ET, remaining there until the same time on February 1. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t follow any fixed timeline with its raid – there’s no Regice mandate for when it’ll be available, although there should be – but the game constantly tells you who’s there to raid. , so keep an eye out.

There is hope, however, for those in need of a Regice: Pokemon Go weekly raid hour appearance on Wednesday nights. This week’s Raid Hour – Jan. 26 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. local time – will feature the Pokémon Iceberg at nearly every gym in the game. If you want a guaranteed hit at Regice, round up your friends and go out after dinner Wednesday night.

Regice Weaknesses And Cons

Regice, as its name suggests, is an Ice-type Pokémon. There are no other types to worry about, it’s only ice and ice. For this reason, Fire-type Pokémon will be your best bets for these encounters. If you captured a Heatran in a previous January raid hour, this raid might be your time to shine. If you missed it, you can always bring Chandelure, Darmanitan, or Charizard and be good.

Fire isn’t Regice’s only weakness, as Steel, Fighting, and Rock-type attacks will also chip away at his icy exterior. Lucario and Machamp would be perfect picks for Fighting-types, while Metagross and Zacian (with the Crowned Sword) could offer Steel-type options.

Types to Avoid

Luckily, there’s only one type of move that Regice resists, and that’s a major no-brainer. No Pokémon trainer in their right mind would an Ice-type move to an Ice-type Pokémon raid, but if someone sneaks into your party, they’ll only register about two-thirds of the damage in case of cut. If you leave the ice moves at home and make this raid a scorcher, Regice will be yours in no time.

Once you’ve captured the Iceberg Pokémon for yourself, take it for a few spins in the Go Battle League as you prepare for the next Community Day with Hoppip.
