It’s a small field but a confusing contest. I can see Ehraz transforming the Ascot form with Hierarchy. Tiber Flow returned to Newcastle well but his two wins topped 7f and it looked like going back to that trip might suit him. I’m not by CADAMOSTO biggest fan but I thought he was running well behind New York at Navan last month.

The shape of the Ottoman fleet is only ok, Groundbreaker looks like a pretty tough horse and Post Impressionist won on his second start the way he liked it, but the one I like is ZAIN SARINDA. He didn’t manage Epsom last time out behind Nahanni with United Nations behind in fourth. My pick had to go around the field and was still hanging in the arch. He could be the improver.

Hope the switch to 1m 4f helps FOX TALES. He was good and tough last year. It could be a prep race for Scope for the Ascot Gold Cup and Eshaada has just suffered a 210-day layoff. Foxes Tales comes here after racing last month and on this trip fitness might be key.

I am attracted to HARRY THREE for the fact that Adam Kirby is back on board. He was in the saddle when he won twice at Kempton last year. Harry Three ran well behind Ingra Tor at the end of April and seems to be improving.

I hesitate between Surrey Mist and Red Vineyard. I’m going down the side of SURREY MIST, who was very green for the first time at Sandown on 7f before crossing 10f and 11f to win twice since. He absolutely swung at Kempton last time out beating Cliffs Of Fury with over 5 pounds up his sleeve.

I am with QUINTILLY. He ran a crack race in the Britannia last year at the Royal meeting when he was third behind Perotto on the pit side. He then went to Newmarket and beat Maxi Boy on 7f. He has only run one race since at Meydan and has run moderately in a Listed. He is back on the grass and I hope there is still some improvement.

Baaeed will win but I’m looking for the one who could beat him if he doesn’t show up, and for me that’s REAL WORLD. For a horse with relatively little turf riding, he seems to be improving. If you omit his two dirt runs from earlier this year, he comes here with a string of 1s behind his name. He might be the only one, if Baaeed doesn’t bring his “A” game.
