Sophie Wessex praised for borrowing from Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion book | royal | New

The Earl and Countess of Wessex joined the 96-year-old monarch on a visit to Scotland this week as the Queen resumed her royal duties following the end of Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month. However, Sophie’s appearance north of the border has led an expert to praise the Countess for taking on many of the Queen’s fashion tips.

Tamara Abraham, acting fashion editor at The Telegraph, said: “Her daughter-in-law, the Countess of Wessex, has also developed her own look.

“At 57, Sophie has never looked better and that’s probably because she understands the shapes, cuts and colors that suit her best.

“These are lessons straight from Her Majesty’s style manual.

“From her handbags to her favorite shoes, here’s how she did it.”

The first way Ms Abraham claimed Sophie imitated her mother-in-law was through the tailored silhouette.

However, rather than directly copying the queen’s solid color blanket over a coordinating dress, Sophie prefers to wear a full-skirted midi dress and a tailored blazer.

The pair have also been hooked on similar handbags.

The Queen has long been described as a fan of handbags, particularly her beloved Launer bags, which she has used exclusively since 1950.

Sophie was recently spotted wearing Tango heels by Penelope Chilvers.

Chilvers also produced Kate Middleton’s tassel riding boots.

Despite a recent preference for Chilvers shoes, Sophie has also been seen wearing Jimmy Choo and LK Bennett styles.
