Voice UK judge wants to return to show six years after stepping down

Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson is desperate to return to The Voice six years after quitting. The Ruby singer spoke out years after leaving the show.

He explained to the Sun newspaper: “I don’t find The Voice as exciting anymore now that I’m gone. I just feel like I should be there. I had done it for three years and won it twice and felt like I was doing it for a lot longer. . . you know, as soon as you become popular, people start criticizing.

“And no one had started to criticize me, so I thought I’d get out before anyone said anything bad or noticed my tricks. The show was going from BBC to ITV, so I thought it was probably a good time because they were going to rename it.”

He added: “I actually thought maybe they were going to get rid of me. I should have stayed. I really appreciated it. Did they say, ‘Please come back, all is forgiven”? No. If I had been asked, I would be there.
